My first chess.com defeat
Here, for your amusement, is my inaugural chess.com failure, with analysis and ruminations that I hope will help me avoid the same mistakes in future games. My biggest chess challenge is creating a coherent picture, in advance, of an attack strategy. I'm confident about tactical situations and prosecuting endgames (when the opportunity presents itself) but I seem get from start to finish in my games mostly by fumbling and reacting to opponents, rather than striking out ahead with a preconceived strategy. I'd be grateful for suggestions on how to think holistically about the attack, or books or sites that can help.
