Kostya and I both notched key wins yesterday, though the story of the round has to be Kostya's preparation in the King's Indian. In a tough main line, Kostya found a novelty in 22...Bf8 and went into cruise control for the easy win, reaching 6.5/9 to be on par with chess legends Alexei Shirov and Baduur Jobava grin.png

My game was a little anti-climactic, as I lacked motivation to play, and at times found myself unable to calculate the most basic lines. That being said, I was still resourceful enough to pull out a win in an interesting rook and bishop ending. I was hoping to be better than 4/9 at this point, but with one game left (with White), I'll have exactly one chance to reach an even score.

Anyways, here is our round 9 video, Hope you enjoy!
