In the above position, a derivative of one of Magnus Carlsen's games played in the Pro Chess League, black just played Qa1. Intuitively, we can say that white should whip out the tactic Rb3!, and it's clear that he wins. If Qxd4, then Rxb8+ followed by exd4, and white wins a rook.

However, this is a very concrete position. We can only supply an evaluation when we're sure that all resources have been exhausted for both sides. In other words, take another look at the position after Rb3. Look the extra half move, and see if there are any forcing variations.
