As a beginner myself, I know the urge to bring up the queen early in the game. I mean, She is the most powerful piece on the board isn't she, so why not use her right from the start? I'll tell you why, the queen needs her protection!  The queen is NOT a pawn, she certainly does not like being used for suicide missions, shes the queen! And if you put your queen out early, she'll just get chased around, giving your opponent time to develop his/her pieces. Here's an example:

White allows Black to develop his/her pieces, after being chased. Now you see why you shouldn't bring out the queen so early in the game? Good.
