Missed Win From My Recent Tournament
Last month I played in my first chess tounament at the historic Mechanics' Institute Chess Club in San Francisco. Even though my results weren't what I would have liked, it was a very fun tournament and I learned a lot.
The format was a One-Day 5 Round Swiss G/45. I was able to win my first two games and then in the third round I was paired to play a very talented player rated over 2000. (My rating coming into the tournament was 1580.)
I was a little intimitated by the rating diffence, but since I had nothing to lose, I thought I'd give it my best.
My opponent actually blundered in the opening which game me a clear advantage. We reached the following critical position after my opponent's move 24...c2. I missed the only winning move and went on to lose the game. See if you can find my MISSED OPPORTUNITY:
