30 years ago - on 1 August 1981 - MTV launched on an unsuspecting American public and music was never the same again.  It was a revolution which spread around the world and which changed the whole music industry.

Fast forward to today and many countries around the world have hundreds of TV stations available, not to mention the great interwebs without which you would not be reading this.

As communication technology has advanced, niche markets have been served ever more effectively by broadcasters and other content creators, yet still...

I WANT MY CHESS TV!

Chess appears, or has appeared on TV before, in various countries around the world, but surely the time is ripe for a professionally produced regular online TV show covering all the major events without fail?

  • I want live coverage of all the top events with expert analysis
  • I want Maurice Ashley-esque live commentary on games like they were a prize-fight
  • I want multiple camera angles catching every nervous twitch
  • I want to hear the players punching the clock in time scrambles
  • I want immediate post-match interviews with the players
  • I want gossip about the players and behind-the-scenes reports from events
  • I want in-depth profiles of the top players about their lives inside and outside chess

AND I WANT ALL THIS NOW!

PRETTY PLEASE?

And yes, I am aware of ChessTV, but - no disrespect intended - it’s nowhere near good enough.
