Long! Book Moves - Caro-Kann Classic Variation
Since December, I climbed up rapidly to an ELO my RL chess friends said I belong, however, internal issues were blocking me. Once corrected, I thought clearer, but came to a thought, if I'm going to go above 2000, then I'm going need to learn the openings more in depth and more analysis.
I got hooked on playing the Magnus New Year's elf which kicked my rear for 20 days before I finally drew it three times, and got two win.
All of that, I noticed as I learned and memorized more and more of the opening moves, my rating of games went high, and against the bots was averaging 2250, which also depended on when I ended the game.
Today, someone played the Caro-Kann classical variation, and after being defeated, I looked back at the analysis, and maybe would have been a better rating for both of us, if I knew the opening. As I played it out on the analysis, this opening is 12 moves long! and can split into another variation Spassky for 13 moves.
I could probably look at a book or website, but I'm using Chess.com's analysis to tell me the book moves. I have to find them. Which maybe is helping me to think and improve my during game calculations instinct, etc. Here's to the longest book opening I have found:
Here's a link to the game I played, where I got an initial rating of 2000, and my opponent 2550. ILate in the mid game as I was playing out what I had in my head, I had missed and blundered into a pawn fork.
