The World Chess Championship 2016 was a chess match between reigning world champion Magnus Carlsen and challenger Sergey Karjakin, to determine the World Chess Champion. Carlsen has been world champion since 2013, while Karjakin qualified as challenger by winning the 2016 Candidates Tournament. Magnus Carlsen defended his title with a lot of questionable moves. Magnus Carlsen won a beautiful game.

They reached to the tie breaker after 12 games of classical chess. This tiebreaker was 5 games of rapid.  Surprisingly at one point Sergey was ahead in the classical games. I can give you a link to the analysis of Robert Hess aka RLH2. FM MikeKlein was the creater of the blog. https://www.chess.com/news/world-championship-playoff-live-update-4653
