This opening and defence is something that really caught my eye. One of the first questions I asked myself was... "What is this opening trying to do?"
As I took a closer look, I saw that this opening frees the path for whites queen and bishop to move in a dramatic way in the beginning of the game. While opening up the paths for the queen and bishop, it also opens the path for whites king. With black making a few simple moves, they could easily put white into a checked position. But, white having opened up the paths for certain peices can easily defend themself.
With black putting its pawn on d5 to try and ruin whites postition, white then justs needs to do something simular to 4. b3 dxc4 5. bxc4, white removes black pawn and gains control over the center of the board.
I will be looking forward to trying out this opening. Please try it out yourself and let me know how it goes!
