Caruana's Missed Win
Fabiano Caruana missed a win in his game against Anish Giri at the Tata Steel Chess Tournament earlier this week. During the broadcast, it was reported that he would have maintained a winning position (according to someone's computer)with 55...Ra3. He played 55...Rxh3 and the game was drawn a few moves later.
I blogged this game while it was occurring on my Chess Skills blog (see http://chessskill.blogspot.com/2016/01/giri-caruana-tata-steel-2016.html) ad then spent part of the next day playing the position after 55...Ra3 against the computer (see http://chessskill.blogspot.com/2016/01/training-with-caruana.html).
The game below, played against my iPad at 4:00 am was my first win against a computer from Caruana's position.
