Ok, it's blitz and we're both lowely class players, but as I said before, the Italian Game is my favorite opening for white.  Many may think it's a beginner's opening or a kid's opening since it is often the first opening a new player learns.  It does however give white active piece play and at least a couple of workable plans coupled with a position that is not that easy to crack.

I like the O-O-O followed by kingside attack plan.  Here is my latest game against a player rated high more than enough to cause me problems:

In this variation Black usually goes for a queenside attack while white presses the kingside.  If black gets all his pieces over to the queenside before or during the attack, white often crashes into the kingside first.  If black attacks with pawns I find it useful to use blacks own pawns for my king's defence.  ]

With this game I made back the last of a 100 rating points I lost playing a few nights ago till 3 in the morning.  I have noticed that I am missing elementary tactics so it is back to tactics study on chesstempo.com for a bit.  I have played well over 500 blitz games in the last few weeks and I am content with my opening repertoire.  I will fine tune that and come back to blitz chess in a month with the goal of cracking 1500.  I will keep trying new ideas on bullet and to keep up with my openings.

Till next time, play well,
