Game against the Olympic Champion
In the 5th round of the Hungarian First League our team played with Zalaegerszeg, a team from a small city. This team was hungarian champion several times in 2000 years.
In the last years they became weaker, so our team prepared to give our best and try to win.
My opponent was 2 times olympic champion Woman Grandmaster Ildikó Mádl, who won the Olympiad with the Polgar Sisters in 1988 and in 1990.
Our team strategy was to keep the balnce with black and go for the win with white.
Long time ago I lost a game against her in a sharp sicilian, so this time I decided to play something ultra-solid.
I wanted to play a positional game instead her sharp battles.
Our team succeded to win the match by a good margin and we hope to continue to play well.
I annotated the game and share it with you:
