Road to the Grandmaster title - Game 26 - London system against the Grunfeld defense
Yesterday I played in the Hungarian league in Szeged, Hungary. My opponent was an experienced FIDE-Master Papp Zoltan Csaba.
I played the London system and he replied with d5 and g6, Bg7 with a Grunfeld setup. He made an early mistake by playing b5 and weakening the c5 square. There were ups and downs, I missed some concrete lines to gain a big advantage. When I had alreadyy a strong position he sacrificed a pawn on e5 to get activity, but I defended well and won one more pawn on the queenside and won the game:
Today afternoon I will play in the the First Saturday Grandmaster tournament in Budapest, Hungary.
My opponent will be the talented young Indonesian International Master Novendra Priasmoro
