Auction Anish Giri's book for Charity

Dear Chess Player,

My name is Bob Meurs and my bycicle club is going to organize a sponsored bicycle ride in May 2015, for the Dutch Foundation Highflyers.

The purpose of the Foundation Highflyers is to let sick and disabled children forget about their illness for one day. The way the foundation does this is to let these children be pilots for one day.

We are going to cycle 1000 kilometers for this foundation. The cost per child to be a pilot for one day is approximately €125. Since we started this fund raising event, four months ago, we have raised enough money to let 25 children fly. This is of course a very good, but it would be nice to raise money for even more children.

Anish Giri has donated two signed very limited hardcover editions of his book my junior years in 20 games. If you want to receive this special edition you can bid on the book via a comment on this blog.

The person with the highest bid on Sunday the 3rd of May at 3pm GMT+2 will receive the book and can transfer the funds plus the needed shipping costs directly to the Foundation Highflyers.

For more information you can visit the following websites:

Kindest regards,

Bob Meurs
