It's amazing that losing a mere pawn or two is ground for resignation for master level play. especially when their pieces have no opportunity for counterplay. Such respect to fellow opponent is heart-warming. In this game, Ivanchuk was pushed to the French defence wall as Ponomariov slashed his way inside.
