The latin kingdoms of the Holy Land estabilished during the Crusades were deeply imbued of moslem culture: strong diplomatic and political relationship were constantly held between the western conquerors and the local tribes, a crucial and intriguing aspect which is rarely spoken of when talking about the Crusades themselves.

In this fascinating picture of the period a western knight plays a good game of chess with a moslem citizen.

It's a good theme for us players to think about.
