Is anything sacred?

Jan 21, 2012, 9:11 PM 2

We frequently see or hear the phrase 'Is nothing sacred?' when we see something we feel reverence for commercialized or somehow degraded in our eyes.  But that brought to mind the question 'Is anything inherently sacred in and of itself, such as a person, place, thing, act, or feeling, or is sacredness simply a quality we place on something due to feelings of reverence towards it?'  But then that brought up the followup question does anything have inherent qualities or is everything only imbued with qualities we assign to it?  Obviously what is sacred to one person could be profane to another...  What say ye my fellow wood pushers?
