5/25/17 - Gaming with my Wife
I've been teaching my wife chess notation, so we've been playing chess with me blindfolded with varying degrees of success. My computer is suffering some issues, and for some reason I can't upload moves on an iPad when typing here, otherwise I'd put some of our games up.
Two things I've been doing to help the process of playing blindfold are: 1) going even slower, committing moves to memory and repeating the visualization in my mind as I go, and 2) memorizing the board in quadrants. These chunks actually do make the whole board easier to memorize and visualize.
I played a full game with a small handful of check-backs, but I'm very very close! More practice and the goal is within reach! I tried to recreate the game from memory but got tripped up around move 7. You'll have to take my word for it
A summary of my thoughts and findings is coming soon.
