Priorslee lions v Newport A

Well after the disappointing loss to Telepost it was time to play the league favourites and current champions. On paper not a promising sight as they have actually strengthen their team. Well things in my own game made no sense, I was in somewhat of a strange mood , firstly having decided that if playing Nathaneal I was going to mix it up and not play my usual e4, instinct took over and I immediately grabbed the e pawn e3 or e4 ? no way e3 so e4 shocker!. then move 2 Bc4 something I have not played for years Nf3 then Bc4 thats my game , Nathaneal not going with the program played Nf6 and I no longer wanted to play Nf3. For probably nearly the entire game I sat somewhat sulking over my own moves, playing the slightly worse posistion until an unexpected oversight brought me back level and I knew I was not going to lose. Adrian on 1 and Glyn on 3 were doing alright but never winning and all 3 of us drew ,which in a normal match would give us a good chance of nicking a result but Newport are strong throughout and convincingly won on the other 2 boards . That leaves us 0/2 and bottom of the table , next up newly promoted Ludlow who also have new recruits and are now very strong also. This season really is going to be the one where staying up is going to be a real struggle.
