2012 Chess Journalism Awards
I just found out that the Chess Journalists of America have announced their 2012 awards.
I am happy to announce that my Novice Nook column at www.ChessCafe.com has won the award for "Most Instructive Lesson" for the 7th (!) time and overall "Best Column" for the 3rd time! :)
For those not familiar with my column, which has run monthly since 2001, the name Novice Nook is a misnomer. It actually is for players at any level who wish to improve.
The specific article that won Best Instructive Lesson was Don't Know What to Do? Try Dan's Dirty Dozen, available at http://www.chesscafe.com/text/heisman129.pdf.
All my columns can be found thru my website danheisman.com. Click on Novice Nooks** on the left or directly via http://danheisman.home.comcast.net/~danheisman/Articles/Novice_Nook_Links.htm
All the 2012 awards can be found at http://chessjournalism.org/2012entries/AwardsRecipients.htm
