Ratings don't matter (unless given a proper assesment).

At my school, some students have chess ratings, (but not the number ones). They are like the A1 to I3, where A1 is best and I3 is...the worst. Goes A1, A2, A3, then B1, B2 and so on.

I hadn't had a proper assesment of my skills so therefore I was placed in H2. This was a match I played with a C1. Full annonations are provided.
