Getting the bug again

i'm playing at Perth this coming weekend, and having looked at the entries i see i'm up against some tough opposition. There's quite a few players there whom i talk to regularly on the tournament and league circuits, but can't remember if i'd actually played against them before. There's also a few that i've played against on more than one occasion, i kinda know what to expect if i'm drawn against them.

Got me thinking about what to expect from those i hadn't played before, and those i hadn't played against for some time.

So i got my Chessbase out and started looking at some of their previous games to prepare for the weekend. Anyone else do this kinda thing?

i've managed down the years to collect games from scottish congresses from the Chess Scotland site, i even keyed in a few back in the day. i always knew they would come in handy some time.

there are also a few in there who have played at a higher level in the past, sufficiently high to have some of their games in commercially available databases such as Chessbase's Mega Database.

Definitely if it is players I have met before. Do yo umean your own chess games or is Chessbase a public record of games in Scotland??
