Mostly Asked Question: "Do I have a Routine?" And " Do Chess Players Have High IQ?"
To answer your question Amy_Smarts, I have no set routine, but I try to do puzzles as much as I can, study some annotated master games from books, play a rapid game or two if I have the time (if not, sometimes I do blitz with increment), some opening study, some general study (like Silman's endgame book and so on), and sometimes if too tired to do proper.
However, in general, it is believed and research indicates that top grandmasters usually have very high IQs. A person with average IQ is expected to reach a maximum rating of about 2000 in chess. Strong grandmasters with a rating of around and over 2600 are expected to have an IQ of 160 plus. But modern research has shown that it does not matter if a child has been previously exposed to chess, and only four months of chess training can significantly increase their overall IQ.
