The young German IM Vincent Keymer surprised to be the winner of the Grenke Chess Open held in Karlsruhe, Germany. The talent of 13 years, originally from Mainz, achieved impressive 8 points of 9 possible, to be crowned over 49 GMs and thus achieve the greatest success of his short career. Among other figures, he has been advised by former World Champion Garry Kasparov and, recently, is trained by Hungarian GM Peter Leko, one of the best players in the world for the past 25 years who has undoubtedly instilled a wonderful system of preparation, to achieve this historic result. He was joined by GMs Anton Korobov of Ukraine, Dmitry Gordievsky of Russia and the famous Latvian genius Alexei Shirov with 7.5. 787 chess players participated.
