Well, it's just another day in Margaritaville.

Addicted to this game?  Yes, there ARE worse addictions, aren't there.

It could be worse.  But............

What are the real danger signs that it really, really might be time to stop playing chess ????

The list below is a hypothetical chess disaster...in chronological order.

Could it happen to you?

....................................................................................

....................................................................................

10.  When neither one of you can remember whose move it is.

9.    When you have to call your boss to say that you can't make it to work because you're in the middle of a chess game.

He then says "You're fired!".

And you say "Fine with me...and you can just go j'adoube yourself!  I QUIT!".

8.  Your chess rating is a higher priority than paying your rent.

7.  When you are evicted for nonpayment, you decide to leave all your stuff behind.  The only thing you take is your tiny portable magnetic chess board and pieces.

7.  You're now homeless so you stand at an intersection downtown with a cardboard sign saying "I will play chess for food".

6.  The police come and try to arrest you.  You resist while repeating over and over..."you're a cheater, that's an illegal move".

5.  You've been beaten, tacered, handcuffed, and find yourself at the police station.  You've got one phone call.  You dial 911 and ask for Boris Spassky.

4.  You're put into the jail cell.  First thing you do is approach your cellmate Bubba and ask "You wanna play a friendly game of chess??"

Just three to go...can anybody out there finish the list?

to be continued??????!!!??????!!!!
