Sicilian Najdorf, Poisoned Pawn Variation

Sicilian Najdorf, Poisoned Pawn Variation

Apr 14, 2015, 8:25 AM 11
Hi all! Today I want to show some tricks in the Sicilian Najdorf. The Poisoned Pawn variation is a very sharp and complex opening, and if you are playing this, it is good to know some tricks. The classical line was 7...Qb6. Today I want to show, why it isn't the best.

The problem in this line is, that in many lines, when white do not take on f6 and he not plays e5 quickly, black can't play Ne4 after Be7. The main idea of the 7...h6! move is, to play Nxe4 after Be7 in some lines.

Now let's see the main lines. First of all, I show the line, when black take the f6 knight instead of e5 or f5.

Now you learned something about the sidelines, let's take a look for the main line.
Now let's see some ideas in the 16.Be2 line.
I hope that you enjoyed this little analyse, of this big variation. Try out in Live Chess or in a live game, and write me what you think about this variation. Please write a review in the comments! Thank you for reading!
