A friend of mine (Dillon) told me that in his childhood his Dad offered him $50 if he could beat him at chess. That inspired the young Dillon to study and work until, eventually years later, he was able to beat his father and claim the $50 prize! Now he carries a love for chess into adulthood. What a great idea on his Dad's part, right!?

Inspired by Dillon's story I've offered my boys $50 for when they are able to beat me. And to help them along, they are enrolled in a week-long chess camp this Spring Break. After his second day at camp Nole (8) came home eager for a game (which he recorded with the algebraic notation he learned at camp!)! Below is our first game. I'm excited for the day they beat me!!!
