Stalemate is Great
I will bluntly say upfront that I'm somewhat annoyed by the new-age notion that stalemate should be eliminated from chess, or that it should count as a win if you force your opponent into stalemate. This is sheer nonsense to me.
Stalemate is an elegant defensive strategy that adds a nice aesthetic to the game. It offers hope for someone in a lost position and helps keep the player with the winning position honest. Some beautiful swindles have arisen because of the stalemate rule.
If it's not broken, don't fix it...
