Turkey Open 2016 - Round 5
I felt demoralized going into Round 5, not only for blowing a won game in Round 4, but also because I was confronting my friend Jacob Copley, a strong player who knows my game pretty well. I figured I would try something different, the Ponziani, but my unfamiliarity with its intricacies led to a stagnant game with few options other than staying alive. I walked away with a draw and a measly 3 points after such a promising start on the first day. But chess imitates life, and disappointment is a big part of it.
