Does using conditional moves give you an advantage?

Does using conditional moves give you an advantage?

I am interested to hear what others think. I can’t see how using conditional moves would give you an unfair advantage. In the end this is my goal in chess, to sit down with any opponent and be able to anticipate the moves of my opponent and respond to them even before they have made them.

Since they moves are ones YOU plan its not like being on auto pilot, you have seen and anticipated the threat and planed your response. If the opponent does something you didn’t expect then nothing happens, so no advantage is really gained that I can see. But like I said I am interested to hear what others think.
