Hey party people,

It's your third favorite chess player sporting a Muppets' avatar. I haven't written in a few days, figured I would touch base. The last two days have been good for me. I made several top 3 places in tournaments. Including regular and crazyhouse chess. Nothing huge obviously. But I am putting together far more consistent results, especially in some of chess.com's 7 round swiss events. It is nice to feel a little more accomplished, and knowing I am making progress.

It may be fractional in the grand scheme of things, but progress is good. Sometimes even the small wins can help fuel you to focus on driving your game to the next level. I just have to keep at it, learn from my games, and play better each game.

Now to switch gears, I am opening it up to all of you. What do you guys do to fuel yourself as you grind your games and basically break even for long stretches? Are there certain things you focus on? Any tips for us when you make a big break through?

Keep grinding team.
