A French blockade sacrifice
The French is a fascinating opening when played right. One gets chances to execute slow blockades. I've seen quite a few games played by Petrosian and Korchnoi (indeed, I've gone so far as to copy even their white openings, particularly the English).
The game presented here is a fairly rapid 15/15 game at FICS (I play black) where my opponent seems to run out of ideas early on, and probably gives me advantage. But I wanted to try an interesting experiment to clog up the position with a blockade sacrifice. It turns out that the rooks end up useless as compared with the minor pieces, and the end result is a draw (I did not see any useful way to proceed, and my intention was to get a draw in the first place).
