When I play white, I always play the Queens Gambit 1.d4 d5 2.c4. In this position, if your oppenent plays 2...Nf6? you simply takes 3.cxd5 Nxd5 4.e4 and controls the centre. And if black takes 2....dxc4 you can play 3.e3. the white pawn falls and you can contol the centre. If black protects the pawn in the second move instead of taking,2....e6 you can play 3.Nc3 Nf6 4.Bg5.
