While studying openings definitely helps, tactics are essential to blitz chess

Here's my latest game played on this site, I play White against a strong opponent rated 2452.

Opening position

a pretty innocuous opening for white with 4 g3 avoiding the main lines.

The first critical position

White to play

My queen is attacked. During the game I focused on Qxg3 and Qd5+. What would you play ?

in the end I played Qd5++ and my opponent demonstrated why chess.com reviews give my move a ?? annotation

Now I didn't like 16 Qg3 because of 16..e4 , I did see 17 Bxf6 but Black answers 17..Bxg3 which leads to this

While I thought this was " messy" actually I can take on g3 and my opponent takes on f6 but then Rxb7 with lots of play with my light square bishop and weak black pawns. so this means 16..e4? is a mistake.

Position #2 White to play

Clearly this positions shows why Qd5+ was wrong as my opponent is dangerously close to my king. How to defend and survive this ?

I played 21.Bc1 on which Black should have continued 21..Raf8! with lots of threats. The right move was 21Bc3! and on 21..Raf8 22.Be1! pins the rook on f2. This is why Bc3 in position #2 is the way to go...

In the end I was able to turn the game around. Here's the last critical position, its all about tactics in blitz !!

White to play

My opponent was banking on Qh2# next. But I have resources after my exchange sacrifice.

23 Qh5+ Kg8 24 Bd5+ wins the queen
