Oi to the World!! (Fake the Funk Remix)
Tomorrow is Christmas Eve. Usually I'm a big ray of sunshine brighly shining all things saccharine and effervescent among the grey people of the world. I haven't really felt like myself the past few days.
This is my first real holiday away from my family. I've become so accustomed to the silly little things we do together. At 28, I still leave cookies out that one dude and my parents ALWAYS let me open 1 present on the 24th. Silly, yes, but it's what makes December a good month for me. I always like the feeling of being warm and close to the ones you love. For me, these feelings have been dormant this year.
So, yesterday, in a vain attempt to replicate said "shiny happy", I went to the market and bought about S100- worth of ingredients and called myself "baking". Just for the record, Kayt the Great pales in comparison to the likes of Martha and Rachel. 4 hours and many albums later, I came out on top. As a result, I've got a kitchen full of Sticky Toffee Pudding, Bread Pudding, Rum Balls, and Banana Pudding.
Now, what am I going to do with all of that??? Ha ha! *sigh*
The act in itself was a temporary diversion however the end result was a reminder.
Maybe if I work on a good main course all will be well?
All I know is that my neighbors won't have to cook for the next couple of days.
Tonight I'll write out that list. I'm still needing a tournament set, a new bicycle, and a laptop. I decided to ask for the pony for my birthday instead ;).
Well, I'll definately be playing chess in between playing chef.
Hopefully, I'll see you around :)
One song I'd like didn;'t post was afrocentrixxxx's cover of Last Christmas. d g
