Chess and Real Life

Hi friends, I have decided to write a book about “Chess and Real Life”.

It is something that I wanted to do for many years, I started playing chess at 9 years old, as a kid I won some tournaments, but chess was just 1 of the many hobbies I had, and I never focused on it. As I aged, (heading 50 now) chess climbed up and had become 1 of my top favorite hobbies, but when 4pc came out on chess.com, it conquered and dominated my fav hobbies list with an instant knockout (replacing soccer).

After the last years of thousands of games in 4pc, and reaching the leaderboards of all the different variants, and as a former admin on chess.com where I was exposed to deeper and wider perspectives and insights of the new developing 4pc world, finally I feel ready to go on with this book.

The game-changer in my decision making is definitely that 4pc is the right perspective for the comparison to real life. While traditional 1 on 1 chess is a pure zero-sum game, 4pc resembles more the real life game, where wider considerations are usually involved. Now we can learn so much more from the 4 pc variants of the game of chess on human behavior and game theory.

Finally, now we can learn insights from 4 pc and implement them in our lives.

Yes before, 4pc existed offline, but only when chess.com made it possible online, this baby game with endless variants really born. 4pc and its community here on chess.com is my lab and everybody's playground to really explore and experience 4pc for the first time in history.

I have been learning a lot from chess.com and from you guys here in our community, from beginners and kids to the top players, and I thank you for that, you, your game, your opinions, and insights, are helping me to fulfill this urge I had for so many years, and actually, I am asking from you now to help even more, I will appreciate any help I can get from you guys to create a great book.

The goal for the book, as its name indicates, is not just to make you a better chess player, as a chess theory book would, but to learn as much as possible from the world of 4 pc how to play better your real-life game and it's different circumstances, and how to implement those insights from 4 pc in your real life.

Another goal is to expose the new 4pc to the world and enhance its popularity. There are around 800 million active chess players, how many of them had experienced 4 pc? (“it's a joke” as one would say)

I will be happy and grateful to hear from anyone anything about it, your questions and suggestions, your insights and wisdom, and any mind storming with me in particular, will be deeply appreciated (and will get you a free copy of the book eventually :))

Thank you all for helping make this book be the best (there are no books about it so far, unfortunately, so it shouldn’t be hard), I am thrilled for your feedback!
