Astute true crime buffs will recognize this address as that of the home in which Hawley Harvey Crippen poisoned and mutilated his wife Cora, better known under her stage name of Belle Elmore. In his book THUNDERSTRUCK, Erik Larsen details the crime and the amazing wireless communications between the Captain of the SS. Montrose, upon which Crippen and his lover were travelling to Canada and Inspector Dew of Scotland Yard who was hard on Crippen's heels. Both sides of the Atlantic were eagerly following the pursuit in well read newspaper reports while Crippen sailed on not knowing that he was in a wireless trap!
