I started playing when I was about 8, usually with my granddaddy, and always had fun. I never took it seriously but played off and on as an adult. When I started teaching, I sponsored the chess club at my school and taught it at a summer camp for disadvantaged youth. In the last couple years, I've been playing more and working on improving my game. I play mostly daily games, but have been working on blitz, although I'm not as strong there. I also spend time studying at chessable.com.
