I am National Master Roland Joseph Perez of the Philippines. I've been coaching different  players, beginners up to experts, for more than a decade already. I've been coaching chess even before I became a National Master and it sure is fun! Let us say I followed Joseph Campbell's advise to follow my bliss.

 I've been a Chess Coach of the Philippine Team in the World Youth Chess Championship last 2008 in Vung Tau Vietnam.

I've been coaching for more than 10 years and won coaching awards as well as helping my teams in Ateneo de Manila University and Colegio de San Juan de Letran win Championships. Click the links below for more details...

To add further, I've been a Palarong Pambansa (literally National Games) Chess Coach for five consecutive years, helping National Capital Region (NCR) chessers win either a gold or a silver medal each year.
 
My passion is teaching chess. My mission right now is to help more players improve their games faster or to simply make them enjoy learning chess in the process. My vision is to create an army of chess students that will use chess as a thinking tool and as an excuse to make friends, not enemies, here on Earth. Chess is still a gentlemen's (and ladies' ) game. Sounds like chess evangelism? Hehehe! Joking, just like chess, can be a serious endeavor too. Oh well...
