Denver native.  Attended Colorado School of Mines from 1971 to 1975.  Physics, but no degree.  Computer Programmer/Analyst for nearly 30 years.  Retired June 1, 2005.

Major interests: Cultural Anthropology, Folklore, History, Literature, Classic American & Foreign films, Visual Arts, Theatre, Classical, Jazz & World Music, Opera, and collecting Travel Chess Sets from around the world; thank you, eBay.

Hobbies: Chess, Pool (Pocket Billiards), Vegetable Gardening, Cooking, Reading, and watching Turner Classic Movies.  Just beginning Black Powder Shooting.

Favorite Chess Book: Edward Lasker's Chess for Fun and Chess for Blood because it was my first chess book.  Read my review at Amazon.

Why I love Chess (and for that matter, Pool): It appeals to my aesthetic love for all things geometric and visual.
