I think of myself as the Don King of Pinellas County chess - my main role is not to play chess, but to promote it.  I re-started the Viking Chess Club (Northeast HS) a few years ago and promoted play between high schools, then during the pandemic, I started PCS Chess on chess.com, which is open to all Pinellas residents.  PCS Chess continues to grow, with more and more members, informal tournaments, and even participation in a monthly international chess league.
