Belavenets, Sergey

Sergey Vesevolodovich Belavenets (1910-1942) was the chess champion of Moscow in 1932, 1937, and 1938.  He won the Russian championship in 1934 and took 3^rd in the USSR Championship in 1939.  He died in the siege of Leningrad.  His daughter, Ludmilla (born in 1940), won the 4^th Women’s World Correspondence Chess Championship in 1992.
