Jana Bellin, born Dec 9, 1947, is a top British woman player. She was awarded the Women's International Master title in 1969 and the Women's Grandmaster title in 1982. She was British Women's Champion in 1970, 1971, 1973, 1974, 1976, 1977, and 1979.She is also a medical doctor and an anesthesiologist who she says is an appropriate specialization for a chess player - "it's like time trouble, you only have four minutes." She was formerly married to Bill Hartston and Tony Miles, top British chess players. She is married to International Master Robert Bellin. She is currently the chairperson of the FIDE Medical Commission.
