Comins Mansfield (1896-1984) was a Grandmaster of chess composition (1972). In 1963, he was President of the FIDE’s Commission for Chess Composition. He was perhaps the best two-move problem composer who ever lived. He began composing chess problems in 1913. He composed chess problems for 72 years. He was President of the British Chess Problem Society. He died at the age of 87.
