In chess, a draw can be claimed when the same position is repeated 3 times. This does not only apply to perpetual check but also repeatedly attacking other pieces. This tactic is used by limiting a pieces mobility and then constantly attacking it forcing it to go back and forth until a draw is reached. Here is a study by S. Birnov:
