Rudenko, Ludmilla Vladmirovna

Ludmilla Vladmirovna Rudenko (1904-1986) was an International woman grandmaster (1976) from Leningrad.  First Soviet woman to capture the World Women’s Championship.  She won the title in the 1949-1950 World Championship Tournament (+9-1=5).  In 1928, she became women’s champion of Moscow.  She was USSR Women’s champion in 1952.  She lost the World Women’s Championship in 1953 to Elizaveta Bykova (+4-7=2).  Her occupation was an economic planner.
