Long ago we missed the 50th birthday of Anatole Taubman who for our interest was Elvis in Quantum of Solace 2008. In terms of an acting career for his age he has worked steadily, amassing 118 screen credits, mostly in Swiss and European films and has achieved a Best Supporting Actor nomination + Best Actor award called the Prix Walo 2008 in Switzerland. To English-speaking audiences he will be known for Band of Brothers 2001 – Foyle’s War 2004 – Spooks (M-I-5) 2007 – Waking the Dead 2008 + The Tudors 2008 – Remigius in Pillars of the Earth 2010 – Roeder in Captain America: The First Avenger 2011 – Famous Five and its sequel 2012-13 – The Fifth Estate 2013 –The Transporter Refuelled + Versailles 2015 as Montcourt – Killing Eve 2018 – Men in Black: International + Watchmen 2019. Born in Zurich, Switzerland he achieved a Baccalaureate at the Benedictine school at Eiseideln Abbey in Schwyz, and in 1994 graduated from Circle in the Square drama school in Manhattan New York City. He is a spokesperson for UNICEF in Switzerland, his ancestry being Russian-Polish-Slovakian-Austrian-East Prussian and he speaks five languages fluently. He was in a relationship with actress Claudia Michelsen and lived in Berlin between 2002-13, but also resides in Los Angeles.
