Focus

Retaining focus on your game is very important. If you make a plan that you judge to lead to some advantage it is best to follow through on that plan rather than just change tack in midstream. The saying goes, "A bad plan is better than no plan." If your goal is to control the centre as most opening do then continue that and don't go for material at the cost of allowing your opponent to regroup. Maintain focus!
