@Melvin960 Do you know if Andrew Salmon still plays at the club. Sadly I'm no longer in Essex else I'd be back at the club. I joined when we used to meet in the upper rooms of the old RAFA club near what used to me the Mecca Cinema. There used to be some real characters back in those days. PK amongst them. I miss him and his ruddy books lol

Hi all. It's some while since I looked at this page which has not been very active. It was started as an experiment, along with other online-playing sites, during lock-down. The outcome was disappointing and didn't inspire enough support. Most payers preferred to hang on until over the board play would return and just a few played online. A club restart turned out to be longer than first expected, but the club is now back.We play at Holland Public Hall. See clactonchess.org.uk - come along and

I was with the club from the mid-80's through to around 1991 went I went off to uni. Those were the good old days. With PK and Alan Quartermain, Les Bracci etc
