First of all, I went from a speed chesser to a boomer rapid player who might start playing 15|10 because I almost just got flagged in 10|0.
But check this out: my opponent had over 5 minutes on the clock over me.. I had less than 20 seconds, somehow, by the grace of God, he blundered and allowed this beautiful end game sac and promotion.
Also, check out this game. I know it’s the Italian game but it’s like a scotch variation even though it isn’t. What are y’all’s thoughts on the scotch game? I’m finding it to be very enticing to play
Also, game 1 of 3 today brought out this Petrov Defense with lots of book moves and a nice checkmate to finish:
First of all, if you have such a huge time advantage like my opponent did in the first game above, use that to your advantage and don’t be too aggressive. With a time advantage, it’s time to play defensively and make your opponent show you what they can do with their limited time. @B1ZMARK calls it the Laz something defense lol my bad I forgot the name but it’s been helping me.
